These seeds are brownish-yellow in color. They smell of curry and they have a bitter, lingering taste. It is one of the most powerful Indian spices. It is one of the main ingredients in "panch poran", a combination of 5 spices used in Bengali curries. Used in most savory Indian dishes, methi seeds are also believed to have digestive properties.
